When planning a trip to the Arctic, it is important you are a considerate visitor and take special care to minimize your impact. It is also important you are vigilant to the considerable safety risks in the area and have respect for the communities you visit and the people you meet. When sailing in the Arctic, it is especially important to consider the long distances, harsh conditions, lack of infrastructure and the need to be self-sufficient. These guidelines have been developed to assist you in being a considerate visitor while staying safe.
