Drop cameras are simple frame-deployed systems of various configurations that are designed to take photographic still images or videos of the seafloor. These tools are non-destructive and can go to beyond SCUBA depths, making them ideal for quantifying macrobenthic assemblages along a range of gradients. Different designs are available for operations off of both small and larger research vessels.
